Carolina Guzmán


Carolina Guzman was born and raised in Costa Rica. She is a tap teacher, dancer, producer, master of ceremonies and event manager. She is trilingual and has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She started her Tap Dance studies with Ms.Vannesa Stocker at Fame academy located in Florida, USA; in 2017. She then continued training with Professor Fredy Corado (Guatemala) in addition to being part of his dance company ORQUESTAP. In 2012 she began her training in New York with the famous tap dancer Jason Samuels Smith. Carolina has danced in important national events such as the Festival de Coreógrafos, Festival Internacional de las Artes, Transitarte among others.

In 2012 she worked for TV Azteca and Univision of Southwest Florida as host of the program Dimenzión AZ, where she had the opportunity to interview television artists such as actor Danilo Carrera and the famous former soccer player David Beckham.

In 2014 she worked for the Costa Rican TV show Habitat Soluciones, in addition to traveling to Brazil to the World Cup as host of the special for the company Viajes Colon.

For 7 years she has been the master of ceremonies for the Costa Rican National and International Sports Dance Competition.

As a teacher Carolina has shared for more than 15 years her art with people in the United States, Spain, Italy, France, Mexico and especially in Costa Rica, where she has been a pioneer in the growth of this discipline, creating and directing the TAP CR community. She has produced two very important shows with Tap legends such as Ted Louis Levy (Show Costa Rica Taps, 2019) and Joseph Wiggan (Show The Golden Era, 2021). In addition to organizing events for the development and artistic growth of Costa Rican students and dancers.

Carolina has been a Tap teacher in several academies in Costa Rica, currently working in Dansteps, Aire Estudio de Danza and Passion Dance Studio. Her students have participated in different national and international competitions, standing out with creative, challenging, dynamic and high level choreographies. Her pupil Luciana Alfaro (9 years old) has been the first Latin girl to win a cutting contest at the famous Tap Riff Dallas festival.

Carolina has participated in international festivals such as LA TAP FEST, RIFF DALLAS, ORANGE COUNTY. She has also had the opportunity to participate in the Tap Music Project directed by the famous dancer Sarah Reich. Among the teachers he has trained with are; Aleksandr Ostanin, Jason Samuels, Joseph Wiggan, tap legends such as Arthur Duncan, Dianne Walker and Ted Louis Levy.
